In a significant development ahead of the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the state, the political landscape has witnessed a major upheaval. The Samajwadi Party, which was part of the Mahavikas Aghadi coalition, has decided to sever ties and join a new alliance led by former MP Raju Shetty. This exit is seen as a major blow to the Mahavikas Aghadi.

The political situation in the state has been tumultuous, with multiple splits and alliances redefining the political dynamics. The Mahavikas Aghadi had previously lost power after the Shiv Sena, one of its constituent parties, parted ways. Subsequently, the NCP also experienced a split, creating further disarray within the coalition.

Now, with the Samajwadi Party’s departure, the Mahavikas Aghadi is facing another challenge. The new alliance, called Pragatik Vyhar Manch, is gaining momentum, with various smaller political parties joining hands under the leadership of farmer leader Raju Shetty. This alliance is positioning itself as an alternative to both the Mahavikas Aghadi and the Mahayuti.

A crucial meeting of Pragatik Vyhar Manch is scheduled to take place in Kolhapur within a month. Representatives from 13 political parties, including Swabhimani Farmers Association, Shekap, Swarajya Party, Aam Aadmi Party, CPI, Lal Nishan Group, Bahujan Vikas Aghadi, and others, will be present to devise their strategy for the upcoming elections.

In the midst of these developments, it is worth noting that four parties in the state, namely MIM, BSP, TRS, and MNS, have decided to go solo in the elections, not forming any alliances. The Vanchit Aghadi, which currently has an alliance with the Thackeray group, is yet to join the Mahavikas Aghadi, making it a topic of keen interest to see which direction they take.

The emergence of the Pragatik Vyhar Manch is causing speculations about its impact on the Mahavikas Aghadi. Analysts predict that the Mahavikas Aghadi might bear the brunt of this new alliance more than the Mahayuti. Additionally, there are discussions about how the split in progressive opinion might benefit the grand alliance led by Pragatik Vyhar Manch.

With the state elections approaching, all eyes are now on the Pragatik Vyhar Manch and its potential impact on the political landscape. As parties strategize and alliances shift, the electoral scenario in the state remains uncertain, and the headache for the Mahavikas Aghadi is likely to intensify.
