December 19, 2023: Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s wife, Gauri Khan, is facing a storm of controversy as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) issues a notice summoning her for interrogation. The ED’s probe is centered around Lucknow-based real estate company Tulsiani Group, accused of defrauding investors and banks of approximately Rs 30 crore. Gauri Khan, the brand ambassador of Tulsiani Group, finds herself entangled in the web of alleged money laundering activities.
The ED is gearing up to scrutinize Gauri Khan’s involvement with Tulsiani Group, shedding light on the financial transactions and agreements associated with her ambassadorial role. The agency is particularly interested in the details of how much Tulsiani Group paid Gauri Khan and whether there were formal agreements governing their association. Despite the mounting pressure, Gauri Khan remains tight-lipped, offering no official response to the summons.
The Tulsiani Group’s troubles stem from a project situated in Sushant Golf City, Lucknow. A Mumbai resident, Kirit Jaswant Shah, who invested Rs 85 lakh in a flat within this project in 2015, now finds himself in a legal battle. The company has neither provided possession of the flat nor refunded his money, prompting Shah to file a case against Tulsiani Group directors Anil Kumar Tulsiani, Mahesh Tulsiani, and Gauri Khan.
Adding a layer of complexity to the case, Gauri Khan is accused by Shah of complicity. He claims to have invested in the project based on faith in Gauri Khan, who endorsed the property through advertisements. The ED, awaiting permission to investigate Gauri Khan in this case, is poised to delve into the intricacies of her role in the alleged financial wrongdoing.
