Sambhaji Bhide Takes Charge of Maratha Reservation Hunger Strike as Manoj Jarange’s Determination Persists

Jalna | September 12, 2023: In an unexpected twist in the ongoing hunger strike for Maratha reservation in Jalna, Sambhaji Bhide, a prominent figure in the state, has taken charge of the movement. Manoj Jarange, who has been fasting for 15 days, has refused to call off his strike despite promises from the state government. On Tuesday, Bhide’s visit to the hunger strike site changed the dynamics of the protest. Arjun Khotkar and Sandipan Bhumre, who were representing the government, were discussing the resolutions passed in an all-party meeting when Bhide intervened.

As Bhide took over, Khotkar and Bhumre left the stage, leaving Bhide to communicate with Jarange. Bhide urged Jarange to entrust him with the responsibility of the Maratha reservation movement, stating that the success of the struggle depended on political leaders like Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Bhide emphasized that he was not a politician and had the support of thousands of youth from the Shivpratisthan Hindusthan organization.

Jarange expressed his gratitude for Guruji’s unexpected support, stating that this was the first time Guruji had come to back their cause. Despite his weakened condition due to the hunger strike, Jarange found strength in Guruji’s presence and support.

The development has added a new dimension to the Maratha reservation movement, with Bhide now leading the charge. The future of the protest remains uncertain as Bhide takes control, promising to work towards securing reservation for the Maratha community.
