Bollywood’s OTT Excellence Celebrated: Netflix and Amazon Prime Video Dominate BH India Entertainment Awards

Mumbai | October 21, 2023: The grand finale of Bollywood Hungama’s OTT India Fest 2023 saw the glittering stars of the digital entertainment world descending upon the stage. Netflix and Amazon Prime Video stood tall, seizing numerous accolades in diverse categories at the prestigious Bollywood Hungama India Entertainment Awards.

Original Films Triumph:

In the Original Films category, Netflix’s ‘Darlings’ claimed the title of Best Feature Film, with Jasmeet K Reen securing the Best Director award for the same film. Manoj Bajpayee earned the Best Actor Male accolade for his remarkable performances in ‘Sirf Ek Banda Kaafi Hai’ on Zee5 and ‘Gulmohar’ on Disney+ Hotstar. Sanya Malhotra was crowned Best Actor Female for her outstanding role in ‘Kathal’ on Netflix. Here’s a glimpse of the winners at BH OTT India Fest 2023:

Original Series Excellence:

In the Original Series section, ‘Jubilee’ was celebrated as the Best Series, with Raj and DK winning Best Director for ‘Farzi’ on Amazon Prime Video and ‘Guns & Gulaabs’ on Netflix. Pankaj Tripathi was named Best Actor Male for ‘Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach’ on Disney+ Hotstar, while Rajkummar Rao seized the Popular Male Actor title for ‘Guns and Gulaabs’ on Netflix. The Best Actor Female award went to Sushmita Sen for her role in ‘Taali’ on Jio Cinema, and Sonakshi Sinha was the Popular Female Actor for ‘Dahaad’ on Amazon Prime Video. Radhika Madan was recognized as the Best Breakthrough Performer for ‘Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo’ on Disney+ Hotstar, while ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives S2’ on Netflix took home the Best Non-Fiction Series (Originals) award.

People’s Choice Honors:

The People’s Choice section saw Anil Kapoor crowned as the Best Actor of The Year Male (Series) for ‘The Night Manager’ on Disney+ Hotstar. Tamannah Bhatia secured the Best Actor of The Year Female (Series) title for ‘Jee Karda’ on Amazon Prime Video and ‘Aakhri Sach’ on Disney+ Hotstar. Hansal Mehta was celebrated as the Best Director of The Year (Series) for ‘Scoop’ on Netflix, and ‘Bawaal’ on Amazon Prime Video and ‘Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo’ and ‘Kohrra’ on Disney+ Hotstar and Netflix respectively won the Best Original Film and Series of the Year.

Additional Accolades:

The ceremony also acknowledged exceptional talents, including Tilottama Shome and Amruta Subhash as Mould-Breaking Actors of the Year for ‘The Mirror in Lust Stories 2’ on Netflix. Triptii Dimri was recognized as the Charismatic Performer of the Year for ‘Qala’ on Netflix, and Shobhita Dhulipala emerged as the Game-Changing Actor of the Year for her roles in ‘Made in Heaven S2’ and ‘The Night Manager S1 & S2’ on Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ Hotstar.

This star-studded awards ceremony, which took place on October 19, 2023, drew the industry’s luminaries. Organized by the trusted entertainment portal Bollywood Hungama, curated and directed by Cinema Waale Film and TV Productions, and produced by Across Media Solutions, this two-day extravaganza aimed to honor and recognize the excellence arising from the world of online streaming platforms.
