December 22, 2023: Maharashtra Politics Buzzing as MNS President Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena Leader Uddhav Thackeray Join Forces at Family Function

Family ties took center stage in Maharashtra politics as MNS President Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray united at a family function. The wedding ceremony of Raj Thackeray’s sister Jai Jaywanti Deshpande’s son was held today at 11 am in a hall in Dadar Hindu Colony. Despite their joint presence, eyewitnesses noted a lack of interaction between the two political figures. The event also saw the attendance of Rashmi Thackeray.

Thackeray Group’s Lok Sabha Seat Formula Raises Eyebrows

While the family function provided a visual spectacle, behind the scenes, discussions on the Lok Sabha seat allocation within the Thackeray group hinted at potential differences. The possibility of a dispute emerged regarding the allocation of 23 Lok Sabha seats. Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut claimed discussions with Congress leaders in Delhi but faced a cautious response from Vadettiwar, stating that the decision would be taken by the high command after the All India Alliance meeting in Delhi.

Seat Allotment Decision Shifts to Delhi Amidst Thackeray-Group’s Alliance Talks

As the Maharashtra Lok Sabha seat distribution discussions near conclusion, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut asserted that the figures would be disclosed soon. Sanjay Raut mentioned Shiv Sena’s demand for 23 seats in Maharashtra, emphasizing that the decision on seat allocation would be made in Delhi. This move follows Uddhav Thackeray and Aditya Thackeray’s meetings with Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi. Despite any statements from Congress, Raut insisted that the final call on seat allocation would be taken in Delhi, setting the stage for a crucial political alliance.
