Mumbai: In an important political development, members of NCP’s Ajit Pawar’s party have joined the Movement-Fadnavis government. As a result, Ajit Pawar has been selected for the post of Deputy Chief Minister. Notably, earlier, Ajit was against becoming the Leader of Opposition, but the people elected him to this post in the Pawar government.

However, even though the session has resumed, the name of the leader of the opposition party faced disapproval from some Congress members. Consequently, Congress announced the name of the Leader of the Opposition.

Bramhapuri Constituency MLA Vijay Wadettiwar has been chosen as the Leader of Opposition by the Congress party. While there were discussions about Sangram Thopte, Ashok Chavan, Balasaheb Thorat, and Nana Patole for this role, Congress High Command decided to entrust this responsibility to Vijay Wadettiwar.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Vijay Wadettiwar has been assigned the role of Leader of Opposition. He held this position previously in 2019.
