BJP MLA Nitesh Rane Raises Concerns Over Inaction by Senior Police Officials

Serious Allegations of Illegal Businesses Surface in Bhadrakali during Winter Session

December 14, 2023: In a significant development during the ongoing winter session in Nagpur, the issue of rampant illegal businesses within the jurisdiction of Bhadrakali police station in Nashik has come under scrutiny. BJP MLA Nitesh Rane took center stage, making serious allegations against senior police officials for their alleged reluctance to take necessary actions.

Rane accused the police of turning a blind eye to the unlawful activities, pointing fingers at specific communities operating these businesses during nighttime. This revelation has sparked public interest and raised questions about the effectiveness of law enforcement in the region.

Interestingly, this is not the first time such concerns have been addressed during a winter session. Last year, a similar scenario unfolded when Rane questioned illegal activities within the Ambad police station limits. The subsequent transfer of then police inspector Bhagirath Deshmukh and the initiation of a high-level inquiry highlighted the seriousness of the matter.

In the current situation, the spotlight is on the newly appointed Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik. The MLA urged the commissioner to take swift action against the illegal businesses in Bhadrakali and questioned the role of the police in maintaining law and order.

It’s worth noting that despite Rane’s vocal stance on the issue, some citizens are questioning the silence of local representatives in Nashik. The community is eager to see proactive measures taken to address the growing menace of illegal businesses, with hopes that elected officials will play an active role in bringing about change.

When contacted, senior police inspector Gajendra Patil of Bhadrakali police station was reported to have been informed about the illegal activities. However, serious allegations were made against him, claiming reluctance to take action. Rane called for immediate attention and demanded corrective measures through the legislative House.

In response to the unfolding situation, Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik assured the public that a thorough investigation would be conducted. He stated, “The matter will be thoroughly investigated. Appropriate action will be taken accordingly,” instilling a sense of hope among the citizens of Nashik who are eagerly awaiting a resolution to the issue of illegal businesses in Bhadrakali.
